Product Conditions

Understanding Circlo Loop Product Conditions: Giving Every Garment a Purpose

At Circlo, our mission is zero waste—from the first stitch to the last wear. To help every garment find its next chapter, we categorize our products based on their condition. Here’s what each condition means:

  1. New with Tags:
    • Items in this category are completely unused, unworn, and still have the original retail tags attached. They are in perfect condition, exactly as they would be if purchased directly from a store.
  2. New without Tags:
    • Items that are unused and unworn but have lost their original tags. The condition is flawless, just like new, but without the brand's price tag or labeling attached.
  3. Very Good - Minimal Signs of Use:
    • These items have been lightly used but remain in excellent condition. There might be small signs of wear, such as slight fading or minor fabric pilling, but nothing noticeable without close inspection. They’ve been well cared for, and any visible imperfections are very subtle.
  4. Good - Signs of Use, but Well Maintained:
    • Items have visible signs of use, like moderate fading or light stretching. They may also include minor flaws like small scuffs or loose threads. However, they are still functional, presentable, and well-maintained, indicating that their previous owners took good care of them.
  5. Acceptable - Extensively Used with Noticeable Defects:
    • Items in this category show more significant wear and have noticeable defects, such as larger stains, small holes, or frayed seams. Despite these issues, they are still wearable and serve a functional purpose. They’re ideal for people who want practical, affordable clothing without concern for minor aesthetic issues.
  6. Poor - Significant Defects:
    • Items have significant defects or damage that affect their appearance or usability, such as large holes, prominent stains, or broken zippers. They are not suitable for someone seeking a polished or well-presented garment. However, these items still have value, particularly for creative use or repurposing.

Why Sell "Poor" Condition Items?

Selling items categorized as "Poor" can contribute to Circlo's zero-waste mission and cater to a niche audience interested in sustainability, upcycling, and DIY projects. Instead of discarding garments with defects, we give them a chance for a second life, helping reduce overall textile waste.

Creative Use Cases for Poor Condition Items:

  1. Upcycling Projects:
    • Crafty individuals may find value in transforming poor condition items into something new. For instance, they can turn a ripped pair of jeans into a fashionable tote bag, or create custom patches for jackets using fabric from worn-out shirts.
  2. Household Use:
    • Poor condition items can be creatively repurposed around the home. Old T-shirts can become cleaning rags, dust covers, or reusable cloths. Larger pieces of fabric could serve as protective sheets for DIY projects or furniture covers.
  3. Arts and Crafts:
    • Artists and crafters can use fabrics from these garments for quilting, sewing projects, or creating textile art. The fabric could also be used for costume-making, doll clothing, or other handmade accessories.
  4. Workwear or Home Use:
    • Garments in poor condition can serve as workwear for gardening, painting, or any task that might be too rough for more presentable clothing. These clothes offer a great way to keep other, better-condition garments protected.
  5. Fabric Recycling:
    • Some people may buy items simply for the fabric. These clothes can be used as material for patching other garments or making smaller accessories like headbands or scrunchies.

By selling items categorized as "Poor," Circlo is giving customers access to affordable and versatile fabrics, encouraging creativity, and helping reduce the environmental impact of textile waste. This contributes to Circlo’s mission of extending the life cycle of garments and embracing sustainable solutions.
